About CECI Since 1981, Consumers Energy Cooperative, (CECI), a member owned corporation, has been successfully negotiating low cost home heating oil and professional burner service to its members. Our service is available to residential oil users in Westchester and southern Putnam counties. We also welcome and encourage civic or other groups to become sponsors, providing an additional member benefit to their organization. CECI is a true co-operative, managed by and for its members. Our mission is, by charter, to provide excellent service and to negotiate, on behalf of our members, contractual terms with fuel and service suppliers. Last year, an average member using 1200 gallons of fuel saved a minimum of $400 in heating oil costs. Price We negotiate with our dealers annually, passing on the savings to our members. How does that compare with our competitors? On average, CECI prices were 20-40 cents per gallon below the average retail price in Westchester County. While not always current, you may want to check for yourself. Go to westchestergov.com for a detailed listing of prices charged by oil dealers doing business nearby, or call us (914-941-2288) for daily or historical prices. Payment Plans Choose the payment plan that works for you: · Pay within 7 days after delivery; · Pay in 10 equal monthly installments. Delivery CECI offers will-call or automatic delivery options. With will-call, the member monitors their fuel use and calls the CECI office each time a fuel delivery needs to be scheduled. With automatic delivery, CECI will schedule each delivery based on our records of your usage. Since this procedure is not fail-safe, to avoid running out of fuel members must still monitor their tank's gauge and call CECI in case a delivery needs to be made earlier than scheduled. CECI has found that current fuel usage is not always predictable based on the usage patterns of previous years and because of changes in the member's lifestyle/family, etc. Service All CECI contracted oil dealers offer full burner service, including emergency service. Part of our dealer selection includes evaluating their previous experience in servicing residential accounts. Because we contract with many dealers in order to obtain the lowest cost with the best service, we reserve the right to assign a dealer to your account, and this assignment may be periodically changed. Emergency Service 24 hours daily during the heating season. Non-emergency service will be scheduled during regular business hours. Recommend a Friend/Sponsoring Organizations When you refer neighbors, family, friends, and co-workers to CECI, not only will you save money on oil, but a $100 referral award will be posted to your account after your referral's first delivery. We welcome and encourage civic or other groups to become sponsors and offer a financial incentive to the organization based on the number joining the co-operative. |
